Working and the rest of her life were still her focus, but she had a secret—one that would sooner or later become her whole world. Everyone, or rather, no one, was informed about her first full manuscript only when it had been finished. Her decision to start sending query letters to agents and publishers was taken in 2009. She was rejected, just like so many other first-time writers. In response to that, she did not shut down but instead stepped up her game.

Danielle was determined to develop herself and made a brave decision. She went back to university, this time to study English literature. It was a tough episode in her life as she had to manage full-time school and late-night shifts at a restaurant. Writing was something she managed to do even though she was caught up in all the hustle and bustle. Such dedication shows a lot about the kind of Danielle a writer is.
