About Xóchitl González

Xóchitl González is a talented American author, screenwriter, and producer known for her impactful storytelling. Born in New York City to a Puerto Rican mother and Mexican-American father, she grew up in the neighborhoods of Bensonhurst and Borough Park, raised by her grandparents. She made her debut as a novelist in 2022 with her highly praised book Olga Dies Dreaming. The novel quickly became a success, earning a spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list. In addition to writing, Xóchitl has worked as an entrepreneur and consultant before pursuing a career in creative writing, eventually earning her MFA from the University of Iowa. Her book, Olga Dies Dreaming, explores themes of family, political activism, and personal identity, drawing from her own life experiences. Xóchitl’s path to writing was fueled by a deep desire to pursue her true passion after turning 40, leading her to challenge herself creatively.
