About Z.A. Recht

Z.A. Recht was born in 1983 in Bunker Hill, West Virginia. Growing up, he had no idea that he would become a writer. He attended Powhatan High School, but from a young age, he knew that traditional education wasn’t the right fit for him.

Instead of following the usual path, Z.A. Recht chose to join the Army. It might have seemed like a strange decision to some, but in the end, it helped shape his future. After completing boot camp at Fort Jackson, he went on to become a squad leader. His time in the Army showed his strength and determination, and he even won a sharpshooter competition, proving his skill and focus.

After leaving the Army, Z.A. Recht shifted his focus to writing. His first big opportunity came when he joined The Journal, a newspaper in West Virginia, as a staff writer. During this time, he was already working on his passion project, a book series called The Morningstar Strain. His hard work paid off when the first book in the trilogy was published in 2006.

Z.A. Recht passed away in 2009 at the age of 26. His death was a tragic loss to the writing world, as he had so much potential and many more stories left to tell. At the time of his passing, he had already made a significant impact with The Morningstar Strain series, which had gained a dedicated following.

Recht’s journey is a testament to the fact that life doesn’t always follow a straight path. His time in the Army and his career in journalism helped him shape the stories he would later tell, combining his real-world experiences with his passion for writing.
