About the Dryden Brothers Series

The Dryden Brothers series by Debbie Macomber is about love, growing up and second chances. Two brothers, Evan and Damian Dryden, come from a big, well known family in Boston. From the outside they seem to have it all, but as you read more you see they are dealing with their own personal struggles and old feelings that haven’t gone away.

Each book is about one of the brothers and their journey with love. The first book, The First Man You Meet, is about Jessica Kellerman. When she was a teenager she had a crush on Evan Dryden. Everyone thought it was cute and didn’t take it seriously. Now ten years later she’s an adult starting a new job and she ends up working with the Dryden brothers. People still remember that old crush, even though Jessica doesn’t feel that way about Evan anymore. The funny thing is she’s actually fallen for Damian—the quiet, serious brother. But he doesn’t seem to notice how much Jessica has changed or how real her feelings are.

Jessica’s story isn’t just about romance. It’s about growing into yourself and being seen for who you really are—not who people remember you as. Damian has his own issues too, especially since he doesn’t want to hurt his brother but can’t ignore his feelings for Jessica either.

The second book, The First Love Again, is about Evan Dryden and Mary Jo Summerhill. They were in love but Mary Jo broke things off a few years ago. She felt like they came from different worlds—she was a teacher from a small town and he was from a big powerful family with big plans for him. His family didn’t accept her and that pushed her away. But even after all this time they haven’t forgotten each other.

Now Mary Jo’s family is in trouble and she needs Evan’s help. He agrees to help but things get complicated when old feelings start to resurface. There’s tension, history and a lot they haven’t said to each other. Evan wants to know why she left. Mary Jo wants to be forgiven. And both of them are wondering if it’s too late to try again.

What I love about this series is how real the characters are. The relationships aren’t perfect and the people have flaws and that’s what makes it interesting. The books talk about love, loss and how hard it is to move on – or go back. You’ll be rooting for these characters and maybe thinking about your own past too.

If you like love stories with emotional depth, second chances and a little drama then this series is worth a read. It’s simple, sweet and reminds you that even if love isn’t easy it’s still worth fighting for.
